RUN SUPER DISTANCE CHALLENGE
Run. Log. RepeaT.
August 1 - 31, 2020
Need some daily motivation in those dog days of summer to get your bum off the couch? Want to get fit, and earn some goodies while giving back to charities in need? For every mile you run in the month of August, you will be donating to help social justice charities (you will get to select your choice at checkout, options are Big City Mountaineers and Metropolitan Development Council).
Can you crush it?
We know it’s hard to stay motivated to get those miles in! Let’s go the distance together! Test yourself and see how many miles you can run in the month! Hit 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 miles or more…we even have a streaker challenge! YES! Those who run every day in August get a little extra somethin. Ok here’s the deal. Join the Run Super Strava club so we can track your miles via Strava (don’t worry we will have an alternate option for those of you not on Strava). Check in on our Run Super Distance Challenge FB daily. Run. Log. Repeat.
For every mile you run, we will donate 10 cents to the charity you select. What do you personally gain besides fitness and bragging rights about helping charities? We have a private FB group with daily challenges and motivations to help keep you super motivated, connected and on task. These serve to be interactive and fun while building community beyond your 4 walls. ALSO…we will send you a Run Super Buff and an etched medallion at the completion of this challenge. Those who streak, that is run EVERY day in August, will receive an additional trinket!
OPTIONAL SWAG:
You can purchase one of these cool tee’s, or a Run Super Boco hat at checkout. Tee’s are $30 and hat is $30. Women’s Tee’s are Pink/White, Men’s are Teal/Yellow.
THE RULES:
What counts?: Any mileage logged for exercise purposes. We are counting distinct periods of dedicated exercise activity. Walking is good too. So if you go on a 2 mile walk, be sure to log it via Strava, GPS or an activity tracker. Treadmill miles also count. Miles logged from normal day-to-day activity DO NOT count for this challenge.
How do I track?: Simple, if you are already on Strava, you can join the Run Super club here. As long as your activities sync to Strava, we can track you via the club! If you do not use Strava (and don’t want to), we will have a system for you to submit your weekly mileage to us via e-mail.
How many miles should I run?: This challenge is about motivation and pushing your limits! We want you to run as much as you can! The more you run, the more money we raise for charity. There is no limit to how many miles you can run. The minimum you must run to earn a medallion is 50 miles in the month. If you join the challenge, and don’t reach 50 miles, you will still receive a keychain, we will still donate 10 cents for each mile you ran, but you will not receive a medallion. In order to earn the “Super Streaker” award, you must log at least 1 mile of continuous activity for all 31 days in the month. The mile must be completed at a reasonable pace (20 minutes or less).
